Landini
1884: Giovanni Landini founds a
company in Fabbrico to design and manufacture enological and agricultural
machinery.
1910: Giovanni Landini builds the
first fixed hot bulb engine.
1925: The first prototype of the
first hot bulb tractor is designed: the 25/30 model.
1934: The Super Landini model,
designed for large-scale land clearance in Italy, goes into
production.
1955: The L 55 model the most
powerful hot bulb tractor, is launched.
1957: Landini and Perkins Engines
Peterborough sign an agreement to manufacture British designed
diesel engines in Italy.
1959: The first Landini C35
tracked vehicle is designed. The Canadian multinational Massey
Ferguson acquires 100% of Landini.
1968: A modern facility to
manufacture earth moving equipment is unveiled in Aprilia.
1973: The 6500-7500-8500 models with the
revolutionary 12 + 4 gearbox goes into production.
1977: The Large series is launched.
1982: The first specialist
tractors for orchards are manufactured.
1986: The lines of specialist
machinery are competed with the range of vineyard tractors.
1988: The renewed medium power
60-70-80 range with 24 + 12 gearbox is launched. The Fabbrico facility achieves a
new production record of 13,000 units.
1994: The Morra family uses a
holding company, Argo S.P.A. to acquire a majority shareholding
in Landini.
1995: Landini acquires 100% of Valpadana S.P.A., a prestigious name in the sector of small
agricultural machinery. For the first time in its history
the company sells more than 14,000 tractors.
1996: The famous No. 2 Line at the
Fabbrico facility is replaced by a new assembly line with twice
the production capacity.
A new manufacturing facility for
mechanical machining as well as the production of gears, and
components for prototypes, is built in record time in San
Martino.
An agreement is signed by Landini
and Iseki for technological cooperation and the supply of
components and complete tractors.
1997: The Legend II range is
launched in the renewed Top and Techno versions.
Production of the Globus range
begins at the San Martino facility. Exports exceed 70% of total
turnover.
1998: The Landini Terminal to
stock and dispatch finished products is created by applying a
functional quality control and product conformity procedure.
The Discovery and Mistral ranges
go into production.
A process to renew the company
begins. A new logo is designed, new colours are given to the
tractors and precise design style criteria are defined.
1999: The Landini Southern Africa
branch is inaugurated in South Africa.
2000: All tractor lines in the 50
to 100 HP range are renewed.
Rex Orchard, Rex Vineyard, Mythos,
Ghibli, Atlantis and Trekker tractors go into production.
New branches are opened in Canada
and the USA.
2001: The Legend series is renewed
with the introduction of the Legend New Generation.
Landini begins production of
Quick-link System Pro 400 front loading systems for the Atlantis,
Ghibli and Mythos Series.
2002: The new VISION line is
launched placing Landini at the technological summit of the
80-100 range.
2008: Landini introduces new line of Tier
III compliant tractors.
